Patient Communicator 3.3.1

The Patient Communicator developed by the Society of Critical Care Medicine aims to enhance communication among patients, families, and caregivers. The app offers translation services in 18 languages, a diary feature for tracking progress during and after hospital stays, easy communication options for pain, moods, and needs, as well as educational resources including a glossary of terms for patients and families. These functionalities contribute to reducing the stress associated with hospital stays.

Main features of the app:

• A diary function enabling patients to monitor daily progress during and after their hospital stay
• Translation capabilities facilitating two-way communication in 18 languages on various topics like pain, basic needs, feelings, and moods
• A pain scale allowing patients to pinpoint sensations on the body, such as pain, itching, and nausea, as well as express the intensity of these sensations
• Over 30 translatable phrases empowering patients to articulate different care and well-being needs
• A glossary of terms aimed at educating patients and families about critical care units
• A complimentary download of the booklet "Understanding Your ICU Stay: Information for Patients and Families"
